The Badger Quarter Horse Association regrets to announce the cancellation of the 2020 Badger Summer Classic Quarter Horse Show scheduled for July 23-26 in Jefferson, Wisconsin. The Board of Directors met recently and agreed on this difficult decision after several weeks of monitoring the effects of Covid-19 and the measures established to prevent the spread of the disease. In the end, it was decided that we could not afford the risks involved. We would not be able to meet the guidelines recommended to protect the health and safety of our exhibitors, staff, and volunteers. In addition, the potential loss of income added to our current financial position just isn’t worth the gamble. The good news is that we are already in the process of making the 2021 Badger Summer Classic the best ever. In the meantime, stay well and stay safe.

BQHA Banquet: February 3, 2019....You should already have it on your calendar as the date for the BQHA Awards Banquet. As you will see, we have a new venue for this year's get together. You will find a choice of five entrees, each at a cost of $20, including tax and tip. Reservations are to be returned to Linda Ehret by January 23rd https://bqha.weebly.com/banquet.html . If you are an award winner and find that you are unable to attend, please try to make arrangements for someone to pick up your award(s) for you. Any unclaimed awards will be available for pick up at our show in July. This banquet is always a fun day, so we hope to see you all there.
Next Meeting: The May meeting of the Badger Quarter Horse Association is scheduled for Tuesday, May 8, at the Olive Garden in Janesvile. Meet at 6:30 P.M.
Linda's Notes: President Linda Ehret sent the following report regarding the April meeting: Greta Zeller has been voted Vice President because Casey Waite was elected but he had declined the nomination. We voted to start the meeting at 6:30 instead of 7:00 P.M. We scheduled meetings for May 8, June 5, July 3, August 7, September 4, and October 2. We talked about having more VRH classes but we would need a special permit if we have more than 2 classes for VRH. We need to start our sponsorship drive so please email out these forms and ask people to print off copies and begin asking their friends, feed dealer, shoer, vets and anyone they can think of if they would be so kind as to help us with a sponsorship. Deb and Hilary will repeat the circuit they did in Jefferson last year, which was very rewarding and WalMart was very generous. We can really increase our prize budget and make the show fun thanks to our gracious sponsors. Ask everyone in the barn! Thanks.

Whether you assisted with the exhibitors' party, or helped set up trail, or volunteered your time in the office, your help is greatly appreciated.
